Were you at Boulder Startup Week this year (May 15-19)? If so, hopefully you had a chance to check out the Internet of Things (IOT) Track. Maybe we're biased (we were the track sponsor), but we thought it had some of the best programming of the week (thanks, Chris Meyer for being our fearless leader and putting that together!). We just saw the blog post that BSW ran on BES, and we wanted to share it. The original article can be found here, but in case you're click adverse we copied it below too... enjoy!
Welcome Back Boulder Engineering Studio as a BSW Sponsor!
Boulder Startup Week is all about startups and helping people connect with resources that help emerging companies thrive. Hey, so is Boulder Engineering Studio! Being a homegrown, scrappy entity that has withstood the test of time, BES is a big supporter of the Boulder startup ecosystem and BSW17. We appreciate all you do, Boulder Engineering Studio!
In a town dominated by app and cloud and SaaS companies, Boulder Engineering Studio is all about physical products! They have an integrated team of mechanical, electrical and firmware engineers who work hard to provide rapid prototyping for a diverse range of client projects and the engineering to get them to volume manufacture. In the view of BES, Boulder Startup Week is an invaluable part of the entrepreneurial culture and spirit in Boulder that BES strives to support directly and through their work with local companies and individuals. We at BSW17 love that outlook, of course.
In the past year, BES has been involved in a whole range of products, including home automation, driverless vehicles, wearables, bio-sensors, art installations, and numerous other smart devices. BES is proud to say that many of these projects are cultivated from ideas that originated in Boulder. With their native Boulder roots, BES remains committed to engaging the best talents in town. Their latest hire, Director of Sales Josh Wrede, will be around BSW17 all week, so be sure to say hello!
This year at Boulder Startup Week, BES was involved in an informative panel called Which Wireless, specifically focusing on how to best incorporate IoT into your MVP. Additionally, on Tuesday night, BES co-founder and COO Dan Bodenstein was a key part of Boulder Community Night: Innovation + Impact, focusing on entrepreneurial and innovative nonprofit ideas to solve pressing problems and critical issues facing Boulder County.
As a BSW17 track sponsor of the IoT track, BES also took part in a video production project with 11 Dollar Bill to highlight BES’s involvement with BSW and other entities in the local startup ecosystem. Look for the professionally-produced video to come out on the BSW and BES social channels in the coming weeks.
We love companies that are proud to showcase their Colorado heritage, and we do love Boulder Engineering Studio. Thanks for your support, BES!
